Very satisfied – would definitely go back!The staff there were extremely friendly and helpful.We received a Seat Ibiza in perfect condition – clean, with a full tank, and ready to go. This allowed us to enjoy our time in Madeira in complete relaxation.Both the pickup and return were completely hassle-free. 👍🏻All in all, a thoroughly positive experience!

Overall, I was very satisfied.If you'd like to know more, read on.Our initial situation:We were already at the Hotel RIU, not far from Girassol's main office in Canico. There was a Hertz QR code display at the hotel. Unfortunately, everything was fully booked. I didn't want to go back to the airport, so I searched the surrounding area and found Girassol.Let's start with the online booking: Unfortunately, the vehicles were fully booked. Finding a suitable time slot with a free vehicle at all was a bit time-consuming. You have to enter the desired rental period exactly, only to find that—as in our case—none of the vehicles are available. This requires some patience and several attempts. It would be better to be able to see the available time slots. This would make it easier to find a free slot.Collecting the vehicle:We rented a Seat Ibiza from Girassol. The vehicle was a 2025 model and in good condition. Freshly vacuumed and washed. We went through any imperfections that were invisible at first glance with Girassol, or rather, they were pointed out to us.To best avoid any problems (something like that certainly spoils the holiday mood and wastes unnecessary time), we opted for the additional insurance. There's no deposit and no deductible in the event of damage.The return:Although we were very careful, the vehicle was, of course, not as clean upon return as it had been upon collection. There was some dust from the Pico do Arieiro and a few light spots, possibly from one of the trees on the side of the road under which I had once parked. They resemble resin. I was worried that this might cause problems upon return. We didn't cause any scratches, etc.I then returned the car with a full tank as agreed. A quick check by Girassol - everything was OK.My conclusion:I was very satisfied and would rent a vehicle from Girassol again at any time. Perhaps the online booking process has improved somewhat by then.

I want to share my wonderful experience! It was my first driving experience abroad! And my first car rental. I'm a girl and I'm 23 years old! I'm traveling alone) When I received the Nissan Micra, I was pleasantly surprised by the condition of the car! The car was like new! Both visually and in operation! They accepted the car in about 30 seconds! Very fast 👍The only thing I want to warn drivers right away so that they don't make mistakes like me - when driving down serpentines on an automatic, use the "L" mode - engine braking! Otherwise, you will encounter overheating of the brakes due to the peculiarities of the terrain of the beautiful island! 😍 and also, look in advance where you can park in the cities and where you can't, study this issue in advance, so that in fact it will be easier ☺️Now I want to share photos with this beautiful baby 🚘My experience was unforgettably cool! Take the car, it's very convenient! 😍 I can confidently recommend this car rental company!)

We booked in advance for our holiday in Caniço and it was a really good experience. The car was in very good condition, clean and well maintained. The reservation was confirmed via WhatsApp and we got a reminder a day before the reservation date. Returning the car was also fast and easy, thanks to Luísa 🙏Obrigado and see you next time!

This is the second time we've rented a car from Girassol, after being completely satisfied with our first Madeira vacation. Pickup and drop-off at the airport were uncomplicated and seamless this time as well. The team is super friendly, and communication is quick and easy, even via WhatsApp. Both times, the cars were in excellent condition. I would recommend booking full insurance, so you don't even have to pay a deposit. I highly recommend Girassol and would book with them again if I come back to Madeira 🌻

We had a Seat Ibiza, it was really well maintained and clean, and by far strong enough to get us around the western island and the top of the central mountains.The service was really good, very forthcoming and friendly.I highly recommend them and would rent there again.
