I booked with Girassol at short notice on-site because of the good reviews, and it was well worth it. The excellent service and very friendly staff deserve special mention. The booking process was also fantastic. Finally, the price was very fair, and the cars (we had two) were very good, clean, and perfectly suited to the conditions on Madeira. Highly recommended.

Had a great experience with GIRASSOL in Madeira! The whole rental process was really easy, and the car was clean, comfortable and reliable. The staff were friendly and helpful, and everything was explained clearly. I would definitely recommend getting the full comprehensive insurance. The roads in Madeira can be very narrow, especially when exploring some of the more remote areas, so knowing you’re covered for external damage makes the whole experience much less stressful and means you can enjoy your trip without worrying about every little scratch or scrape. Having a rental car made exploring Madeira so much easier, and I would definitely use GIRASSOL again. Highly recommend!

The Mazda 2 hybrid is a fantastic car. The rental office is very professional; when we had an incident where we scraped the car's paint, the full insurance worked perfectly! When the incident happened at night, the office responded quickly to our text message. I RECOMMEND it! 🌼

We came across Girassol because we were staying at a hotel nearby and spontaneously asked about renting a car for the next 10 days. We had no reservation, but they were still able to provide us with a rental car as early as the following day. We explored the island in a red Nissan Micra with great features, including a rear-view camera, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The car had a few exterior scratches and marks, but this did not bother us at all. The brakes and overall performance were excellent and the car was more than capable of handling Madeira’s roads and all the exploring we wanted to do. The service and advice were excellent and incredibly friendly. They even took the time to explain Madeira’s motorway, parking and roundabout rules to us. We have never experienced such personal, friendly and genuinely helpful advice that went beyond simply selling us a rental car. Returning the car was quick and completely hassle-free. We would definitely recommend Girassol and would happily rent a car from them again!

100% recommended. We reserved a Mazda2 Hybrid, received the car fully fueled, spotlessly clean, and in excellent condition for a rental car. Very friendly staff and excellent service, hassle-free return. 24-hour telephone hotline available for any problems. We'll definitely book with Girassol again for our next Madeira holiday! 😉👍

Very happy with the company and the car I rented! 😊 I booked the car a few months in advance. When making the reservation, I indicated a pick-up time an hour later than our actual flight arrival. But the company tracked our flight and met us on time with a sign — it was very nice! They explained everything, showed us how to use the car, so there were no problems. The car was clean and fueled. I took the Mazda 2 Hybrid — very economical, convenient and comfortable to drive. For the roads of Madeira, it is simply a great option: it easily goes uphill, takes turns well and is generally very pleasant to drive. I was very satisfied with the rental! The communication over WhatsApp really helped everything go smoothly. We were a little late dropping off the car but there was no problems/extra fee. I can't complain, would definitely recommend. 👍
