Highly recommend. The service from the Girassol team was excellent throughout our 4 day rental. Delivery to our Lido apartment was prompt, with a clear briefing about the car and the parking rules on Madeira. The Mazda 2 hybrid was very clean and its automatic transmission proved essential for stress free driving and parking on the good but steep and winding roads. I appreciated the flexibility over moving our drop off time at the airport with easy and friendly communication over WhatsApp. Thank you Luísa and Sofia and all the Girassol team.

I rented a Nissan Micra 2022 with an automatic transmission (variant) and a 1.0 engine here. I rented it for 5 days for about 260 euros. Without insurance and left 500 euros as a deposit. You can do it with insurance and without a deposit at all, in my opinion. This may even be a better option, because then you are not so afraid of scratching the body somewhere. But everything was fine with us, no problems. The car coped with all these mountain roads. Compact car - it was convenient to park. Recommendation)

We had never been to Madeira before and had only heard about its high mountains and the extremely steep inclines that come with them. Since we wanted to avoid the stress of waiting in line at large companies at the airport, we booked a transfer that took us comfortably and safely to our holiday apartment. The next day, we picked up the Mazda 2 we had reserved from Germany at the Girassol branch, which was very close to the beach. The staff kept in touch with us via WhatsApp, so I was able to easily request an extra day. We absolutely loved the Mazda 2 Hybrid because it drove us so reliably and powerfully to all our destinations. A holiday in Madeira would be quite an adventure without a car. While you can get from town to town using public transport, a car offers complete flexibility in terms of time and location, which is often a blessing given the island's varied weather conditions and remote corners. We can highly recommend the team and their vehicles. Despite the fully comprehensive insurance with no excess, the price-performance ratio was perfectly acceptable. We wish this reputable company many good customers and all the best personally.
