Helpful, friendly service and a great little car for exploring Madeira. They only do automatics but this is fine as it was my first time driving a left hand drive car so I was glad not to worry about gear changes on all the mountain roads as well. The car was clean, comfortable and in excellent condition. Would highly recommend to others and use them next time we visit!

We received fantastic service, both during our reservation and upon arrival. They waited for us after a two-hour flight delay. The car was in perfect condition and very clean, even the tires! The car was delivered quickly and on time. Highly recommended and the prices were competitive.

I really liked the communication with the company, my flight was delayed for 3 hours, after I arrived at the airport within 10 minutes a girl arrived and brought a car, the car was in excellent condition with a full tank, after 5 minutes I could already drive and enjoy the views of the island, the company is excellent, I will recommend it to all my friends who are planning to come on vacation, the car, despite the fact that it had a 1 liter engine volume, felt great throughout the entire island, thank you very much again) and most importantly; I didn't leave any deposits for the car as other companies require, I bought full insurance for 15 euros per day and enjoyed my holiday

We were staying close so we decided to rent the car from the office and not the airport. The bolt or taxi from the airport was cheaper than the extra day+ off hours fees ( we were arriving late). It took maybe 10 minutes to pick up and 2 to return. The car looked brand new and was impeccably clean. Great experience without any problems.

Great price, walking distance from riu Madeira hotel, no deposit and full insurance. We booked an automatic at no extra cost (red Micra). It was a pleasant drive, very easy collection and drop off. They also provided a suitable phone dock for an extra 5€. I would recommend going with this company as a local place, the cost was very cheap compared to alternatives in Funchal which were 600€ more for a manual!!!

I had a great experience with this company. I had originally Reserved a car with another company. My flight ended up getting delayed and I missed the opportunity to rent the car I originally planned to use. With no notice at all, Girrasol provided a car to me within an hour. We hired a car for one day on 13/3/25. We met with 2 different members of staff during our stay in Madeira and both were incredibly helpful.Rita was particularly amazing, and helped provide us with a 2023 Seat Ibiza automatic for the day. The car was amazing, very smooth and faultless. I would definitely recommend using this company as the cars are automatic, and some of the hills in the area are very steep and would be challenging in a manual.My boyfriend and I are only 19 (both have 2 years driving experience + no claims), and we were both keen to see more of the island. However, we struggled at other rental companies who would not supply to us. Girassol were very helpful, and only added on a small extra fee of around €6 for being young drivers. Another company on the same street asked for €500 deposit which was not something we were willing to pay.Overall, the staff were friendly and incredibly helpful. The cars on offer were all a very high standard (new cars). Would definitely recommend this company to anyone over anywhere else in Caniço de Baixo, and I would definitely use it again myself.Thank you Girassol! Best wishes, Megan.

We had a fantastic experience renting a car in Girassol! The service was excellent - our car was delivered to our hotel on time and the friendly staff even accomodated an earlier return when we needed. Seat Ibiza was nearly new, spotless and smelled fresh. Its automatic transmission made driving on Madeira's steep roads effortless and Android Auto feature was incredibly useful for navigation. A smooth and hassle-free rental. Highly recommended.

Very warm welcome despite our deplorable English. Impeccable car, nothing to say, no problems to note. We suggest to future renters to rent a small car like a smart one and with an essential automatic gearbox because as soon as you leave the main roads the small roads in the towns are very, very steep and narrow. We had a Fiat Ibiza that was a little too big. Thanks to the young woman who welcomed us into the canico de baixo shop.

I discovered Girassol less than 200m from the hotel and already booked a Nissan Micra when I got home. Upon collection we were given a nice red Micra with Google Car Play so we could use Google Maps on the vehicle display. The car also had an automatic transmission, which is very helpful in Madeira when you have to drive on steep places. The delivery was also uncomplicated. Fill up the tank and drive up. Short tour. Complete. Top.

The best rental company I have used. The Seat Ibiza in the automatic version simplifies a lot, although I have no problem with the manual. The roads in Madeira are very good and wide, even the winding and steep ones, so driving is a great pleasure. I booked via the intranet, and the additional payment and contract were made on site (the whole process took about 5 minutes). Nice and professional service. I took full insurance without a deposit. I recommend it with a clear conscience.

Great experience in booking a car! Friendly employees, favorable rental conditions and excellent cars. Fully adapted for the difficult roads of the island. There were no problems at all. We met right at the airport at the specified time, it took 5 minutes to complete the documents. It also took time to hand over the car. The machine is clean and smells good. Everything is beautiful!
